Groovement Oakland at Township Commons - Sundays, 11:30am to 1:15pm - Feb 9, 16, & 23 + March 2
Whether you're brand new to dance classes, dance is a lifelong passion, or you fall somewhere in between, Groovement is the place for you.
Groovement is about finding a sense of comfort and groove within the container of a structured dance class that emphasizes rhythm, musicality, and authentic expression. I share the movement that comes most naturally to me: a hybrid reinterpretation of my experiences dancing at home, in studios, and in clubs.
Class soundtrack spans Afro and soulful house, Afrobeats, hip-hop, R&B, jazz, reggae, and more.
Groovement is an Afrocentric, QTBIPOC-friendly, liberation-focused, hate-free, pro-love space. All levels, all ages welcome. Comfort with music and movement is helpful. Sweats or other danceable clothes and sneakers suggested.
