Blues Dancers of Brighton invites you to a limited-numbers workshop for all levels (flexing to suit those present)
A chance to focus on often overlooked partner dancing essentials, improving our connection to the music, the floor, our own bodies, and each other!

Schedule:
1pm Doors open, shoes off, music on!
1:45pm-3:30pm Workshop, with comfort breaks
3:30pm Another chance to social dance!
3:50pm Let's join the bandstand swing dancing (4-6pm) and notice how your learnings feed into other styles!

About our guest teacher:
Jam (they/she) began dancing as part of their gender transition journey. Starting with contemporary and flamenco, they found their way to swing and blues, and eventually also other black diasporic dance forms such as popping and waacking.
They see dance as a way to explore and reconnect with one’s body, the earth, and each other, and are passionate about sharing these opportunities, especially with the queer community. They also feel strongly about the importance of respecting the authentic roots of these dances, and how those traditions can empower the expression and exploration of the individual.

Cost: Pay what you can, on a sliding scale from £5 to £10 - proceeds go to Collective Voices for Change.
