About this Event

Save the Date:

Join our celebration of Chicanx Life and Culture on Mexican Independence Day, 16 de Septiembre, at La Mexican Heritage Plaza of San Jose, Califas, where we will celebrate the resistance and prosperity of our communities through poetry, in this sacred land of central California, in the Mayfair community where our people organized with César Chávez for the rights of Mexican Americans.

We are celebrating the publication of the anthology In Xóchitl, In Cuícatl, cien años de poesía chicanx/latinx, 1920-2020, with readings from 20 of the poets included in this historic bilingual book, published this year by Polibea Press in Madrid, Spain. We are marking the story of our future.
