Does dim rhaid cyflwyno Griff Lynch bellach, fel prif leisydd y grŵp poblogaidd Yr Ods, ac fel artist unigol pop-electronig sy’n cyfuno geiriau teimladwy gyda synths breuddwydiol, minimalaidd.Rhyddhawyd y sengl cyntaf o albwm unigol cyntaf Griff ym mis Mai 2024. Mae ‘Kombucha’ yn gawl o felodïau llachar a threfniannau llinynnol tynn, a chafodd y sengl ei rhyddhau ochr yn ochr gyda fideo a gafodd ei gyfarwyddo gan Griff ei hun.
Wedi dilyn y sengl cyntaf gyda pherfformiadau yn Tafwyl, yr Eisteddfod Genedlaethol, a gŵyl Sŵn, cafodd yr ail sengl ‘Ti Sy’n Troi’ ei ryddhau ym mis Tachwedd. Heb wyro gormod oddi ar ei arddull alt-pop arferol, mae’r trac hefyd yn serennu llais arbennig Lleuwen Steffan.
Wedi’i hysgrifennu yn ystod y pandemig, gadawyd y trac yn ddienw am bedair blynedd, nes i Lleuwen ei recordio yn gynharach eleni gyda'r cymysgydd, Rhys Edwards, a gynhyrchodd yr albwm 'Le Kov' gan Gwenno. Yn plethu harmonïau hudolus gyda churiadau cynnil, mae'r trac hefyd yn cynnwys trefniannau llinynnol cyfoethog gan Owain Llwyd.
Eglura Griff: “Dwi'n ffan mawr o Lleuwen fel cantores ac fel artist, ma' popeth ma' hi’n greu yn dod o le ‘go iawn’ a wastad yn taro tant efo fi. Dwi mor falch bod hi ar y trac yma."
Mae Griff a’r band yn ymweld ag Abertawe ar nos Wener y 6ed o Ragfyr cyn sioe yn Two Palms, Hackney ar gyfer Klust, ac mae hyn yn gyfle arbennig i'w gweld yn fyw cyn i’r albwm cyntaf hir ddisgwyliedig cyrraedd trwy Lwcus T yn 2025.

Griff Lynch needs no introduction, both as lead vocalist of the popular group Yr Ods, and as a solo pop-electronic artist fusing poignant Welsh language lyrics with dreamy synths and minimal background beats.
The first single from Griff’s upcoming debut solo album was released in May 2024. ‘Kombucha’ features a cocktail of bright melodies and tight string arrangements and was accompanied by a music video directed by Griff himself.
Griff followed this up with acclaimed performances at Tafwyl, the National Eisteddfod, and Sŵn Festival, before releasing the 2nd single from the album ‘Ti Sy’n Troi’ (You Turn) this November. Often searching for new sonic soundscapes but never overlooking his alt-pop roots, the track features fellow Welsh singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Lleuwen Steffan — a long-time admirer of Griff’s — as both “finally” get the opportunity to collaborate on a “song that just feels right.”
Written during the heights of the pandemic, the track was left both nameless and lyric-less for four years, until Lleuwen came on board to record earlier this year, as well as Cardiff-based mixer, Rhys Edwards, who produced Gwenno’s Mercury Prize-shortlisted ‘Le Kov’ album. Providing the track with enchanting harmonies and beguiling storytelling, Lleuwen’s profound delivery is the perfect marriage for Griff’s understated undertones.
Griff Lynch and his band visit Swansea on Friday the 6th of December ahead of a show at Two Palms, Hackney for Klust Music, and this is a special opportunity to catch them live before the long-awaited debut LP lands in early 2025 via Lwcus T.
