About this Event
Stitching together creativity and community, this knitting and crocheting group meets in the serene setting of Green-Wood’s Modern Chapel. Whether you're a seasoned pro or just starting out, all are welcome to join us as we craft together, sharing stories, skills, and grief resources. Along the way we’ll reflect on the deep significance of handmade items in both our personal and collective histories. Beginners can take part in our knitting and crochet tutorials, while experienced crafters are encouraged to bring their ongoing projects and mentor others.
Feel free to bring your own yarn, needles, and hooks; some materials will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Not a knitter? No problem—bring any craft you're working on and enjoy the creativity and camaraderie. For a glimpse into past experiences, listen to or read this piece featured on NPR.
Free. Registration required. Please consider a $10 to the Green-Wood Historic Fund so that we can continue to offer more death education programs like this throughout the year.
