About this Event
Grief can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to navigate it alone.
Our Grief Walks offer a calm and welcoming space to move at your own pace, whether you want to reflect quietly, share your thoughts with others, or simply take in the beauty of Walthamstow Wetlands.
When we are grieving, there are so many benefits to walking:
- It can boost well-being by lifting our mood and improving the quality of our sleep;
- Walking with others forms connections and helps us feel less alone;
- Being in nature can help us feel connected to the present.
As this will be our last Grief Walk for a little while, we’ll be adding something special: a nature-inspired creative activity led by the Walthamstow Wetlands team.
We’ll begin with a short guided walk around the Wetlands, then head indoors to warm up with a hot drink and make a festive wreath using natural materials gathered along the way.
Our volunteer hosts will be there throughout to support you and help you take part in whatever way feels right for you.
Whatever your loss — whether recent or many years ago — everyone is welcome.
The walk is FREE to attend, thanks to funding from the National Lottery Community Fund.
Booking information: Places are limited. If you book a place and find you’re no longer able to come, please cancel your booking or let us know as soon as possible so we can offer your space to someone else.
