GRIEF MATTERS: The Call to Action for Grief Literacy. There's a need in society at large and its various institutions to recognize death and grief as affecting 100% of the population. Grief Literacy is a growing movement that will be explored in detail along with the importance of social health and community-building in supporting those who have experienced loss in its many different forms. Strategies for supporting others as well as yourself in grieving will be discussed.
We are honoured to welcome Phil Carverhill, Ph.D., Registered Doctoral Psychologist and grief expert, as our keynote presenter at our 4th Annual Grief Symposium. He will address these timely issues in grief and bereavement, with a focus on the essential concept of grief literacy.
