About this Event

This hands-on session will introduce a range of field techniques used by ecologists and entomologists to study insects and other invertebrates in different habitats.

Participants will have the chance to see methods including sweep netting, pan traps, pitfall traps, and G-vac sampling, while learning how each technique helps researchers monitor biodiversity and understand ecosystems. Whether you’re completely new to entomology or already have an interest in wildlife surveying, this is a great opportunity to build practical skills, ask questions, and get up close with the incredible diversity of invertebrate life.

Please note: Free tea and filter coffee will be served by our wonderful Greyhope Bay volunteers.
