Formed in 2021, Greyfriars Society Orchestra is a 7-piece group from Edinburgh, playing early Jazz and Swing and introducing new musicians to the joy of acoustic Jazz and Blues from the 1920s & 1930s. Playing hits from the silver screen, lesser known ballads and good old good ones, there'll be plenty of great music to dance to and enjoy.The Edinburgh Jazz 'n Jive Club offers on Fridays live Jazz music in a relaxed club house atmosphere, with a bar and an excellent, wooden dance floor. The music is generally suitable for dancing Foxtrot and Swing (Lindy Hop, Shag, Balboa). Come along to listen to superb Jazz and to dance the evening away!
No need to book in advance, just come along! The entry fee of £12 (£10 for members) can be paid at the door by card, cash or cheque. The main entrance is from Bangholm Terrace, with step-free access from Warriston Gardens corner Inverleith Row.
