Gretna Kids Playhouse Summer Workshop 2022 - Beauty and the Beast

Join us for Gretna Kids Playhouse's Summer Theatre Workshop 2022! For two weeks, young performers will study the craft of acting through theatre games, one-on-one coaching sessions, and rehearsals - all culminating in at least two performances of Beauty and the Beast. Though our version of Beauty and the Beast is not a traditional musical, there are musical elements in the show, so our young performers will have the opportunity to experience that side of the theatrical process. At GKP, all performers have their moment in the spotlight, regardless of experience or skill level.

The workshop will be held at the beautiful Gretna Cultural Center for the Arts (Huey P. Long Ave. and 4th St.) and is open to performers ages 6-12. The workshop runs Monday-Friday, 9am-3pm, July 18-29. We will have two performances of the show at 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm on Saturday, July 30. Actors must be available to participate in BOTH performances. Please note, we may opt for additional performances on Sunday, July 31.

A t-shirt will be provided with registration. Additional t-shirts will be available for purchase.

Regarding payment: A discounted sibling rate of $200 is available for families with two or more participating children with the purchase of one child at the regular $250 rate.

Regarding cancellations: The fee is comprised of a $100 nonrefundable deposit + a balance that is refundable until 6/11/2022. No refunds will be issued after 6/11. After completing payment, you will be provided a link to complete your registration. Please note that, due to the unpredictable nature of COVID-19, we reserve the right to cancel the workshop on or before 6/11/22. Should cancellation due to COVID-19 occur, GKP families will be refunded in full.
