Greeting Card Collage Workshop (Tales from the River)

Spend an afternoon creating, cutting, and pasting as you transform upcycled and repurposed materials into one-of-a-kind greeting cards. Rooted in sustainability and creative reuse, this beginner-friendly workshop invites participants to explore colour, texture, and composition through collage. Lead artist Sabrina Chu will guide you through the process, offering inspiration and techniques to help you create personalized cards filled with handmade charm to take home.

About the Artist:

Sabrina Chu: Sabrina Chu is an interdisciplinary artist based between Shanghai and Toronto. Working across textiles, photography, and collage, her material practice centres on sustainability, emphasizing slowness, care, and intentional making in each piece. Sabrina’s background in linguistics and environmental studies sparked her artistic approach as a way to bridge the intersection of environmental, cultural and social sustainability through visual storytelling.

About the Project:

Tales from the River offers a series of senior-coordinated workshops that culminate in the co-creation of a community-engaged public art project along the Humber River in Weston. The initiative highlights how seniors’ leadership and creativity have a tangible, visual, and social impact on community spaces, embedding their contributions in the public realm.
