About this Event
WE WILL BE IN QUEEN ANNE COURT, 1ST FLOOR, ROOM QA175
After a number of successful game jams starting in 2023, we are proud to present Greenwich Global Game Jam 2025!
We look forward to welcoming you to the Queen Anne building, as we all hunker down and see what our minds can come up with over the space of a weekend.
The Queen Anne building is right inside the beautiful Old Royal Naval College (a UNESCO World Heritage site), and surrounded by lots of great places to eat by the Cutty Sark boat and Greenwich Market.
(NEAREST PUBLIC TRAIN STATION: Cutty Sark DLR)
What's a 'game jam'?
It's an event where people gather together, get given a 'theme', and then create a game either individually or in small groups in a short period of time. A common format is over about 48 hours, and that's what we're (roughly) following here.
Who is this for?
ALL SKILL SETS AND SKILL LEVELS WELCOME.
If you're new - don't worry, we'll do our best to help you find a place in a team and have the best experience.
If you're more experienced - welcome back to in-person jamming!
(Please note that we cannot have any jammers under 18. Really sorry about that.)
What do I need?
You will need to bring your own equipment. At minimum this means (if you're making a digital game) a laptop/tablet/keyboard with the power cable and any other adaptors you might need. If you are able to bring your own power extension cord as well that would be helpful.
Use any software, any tools you want.
Free Wifi will be provided via guest access to our eduroam network.
You are responsible for your belongings at all times - we cannot be held liable if anything should happen to your gear at the jam.
We also welcome those that fancy a go at board/card/non-digital game creation, and have some paper prototyping resources for you to use.
Hours
At Greenwich Game Jams we will NEVER run a site for 24 hours. This is because we believe that you can still make a great game, have a good time, all whilst taking breaks and looking after yourself properly.
At 9pm on Friday and Saturday, we will close the site and STRONGLY encourage you to have some down time with your fellow jammers at one of the many wonderful local pubs/cafes/restaurants in the local area, or simply go home and rest for the next day.
DOWN TOOLS AND TAKE A BREAK.
Be focused, take breaks, prioritise self-care. Have fun.
