You are invited to our Grand Opening Event and Community Planting Day for the #GreenMyCity Project in Hamilton, ON!Join us at 9am to celebrate the opening of the new Community Green Space and Children’s Play Area at St. Matthews House!
The Green Cities Foundation is a community connecting plants and people for a greener, healthier urban climate - We are seeking volunteers following the ceremony to help plant and mulch at St. Matthews House, hand out plants to the Barton Village neighbours, plus build an accessible pathway for the Community Gardens at Birge Park.
Event Tips for Volunteers:
?Wear comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty. Some event sites can be muddy. T-shirts will be provided for all volunteers!
?You must wear closed-toe shoes to participate.
?Bring water in a reusable container you can take home with you. Help make this a litter-less event!
☀️Remember to wear sunscreen.
?Gloves and shovels are provided.
⛈️Events happen rain or shine but not in thunderstorms. Please dress for the weather.
