About this Event
With support from the King County WaterWorks Program, the Seattle and Bellevue 2030 Districts are hosting a focus group of affordable housing owners, operators, and managers to discuss stormwater management strategies, limitations, and opportunities in affordable housing. This focus group is free to attend. To help spread the word about this important discussion, we have drafted some sample language, images, and posts for your distribution.
What We Aim to Learn:
- Barriers to GSI Implementation: Identify challenges and obstacles faced by facilities in adopting GSI measures.
- Interest in Sustainability Measures: Gauge the level of interest and commitment to sustainability and stormwater management among housing providers.
- Current Environmental Practices: Understand how facilities currently address environmental issues, including the roles of committees, tenant leaders, and external groups.
- Desired Outcomes: Discover the goals and expectations for environmental and stormwater improvements in low-income housing.
- Knowledge of Existing Programs: Assess awareness and participation in programs like RainWise Big Roofs, Facilities Credit Program, Mini grants, WaterWorks, and Rainscapes. Identify reasons for participation or non-participation.
- Ideas for Stormwater Management: Gather innovative ideas and preferences for addressing stormwater management.
Lunch will be provided and attendees will receive a free ticket to tour Seattle Housing Authority’s Willis House, showcasing stormwater infrastructure in action.
