Need a break from paddling? Well, neither do we! BUT, there's cool stuff happening downtown in the City of Lancaster to protect our special Conestoga River!
On Wednesday, August 5th at 6PM, join Kate Austin, Green Infrastructure Asset Specialist for the City of Lancaster, as she explains the many green infrastructure improvements happening around Lancaster.
We will meet at Ewell Plaza, 123 N Queen St, Lancaster, PA 17603, and end at Lancaster Brewing Company, 302 N Plum St, Lancaster, PA 17602.
The distance between the 2 locations is 0.6 miles. We recommend that you park on the street near Lancaster Brewing Company, then walk the 5 blocks downtown to Ewell Plaza. Parking meters turn off at 6PM, but do keep an eye on parking signs (some spots are maximum 2 hour parking or have restrictions about non-residents). You can use a ride share to get between the start and end as well.
Kate Austin, CBLP-D, CBLP-I, is the Green Infrastructure Asset Specialist for the City of Lancaster. She manages the operations and maintenance of the City’s award-winning green infrastructure installations. Kate is passionate about cultivating multifunctional, beautiful, native urban landscapes to manage stormwater, provide habitat, and promote urban greening. In addition to her work at the City of Lancaster, Kate serves as President of the Board of the Little Conestoga Watershed Alliance and steering committee member of the Chesapeake Conservation Landscaping Council.
