Green Gala Fundraiser Dinner

Help celebrate at the end of our annual WildWings Nature & Arts Festival by dressing to impress, Cowichan style. Get together with amazing like-minded people, share awesome food and great libations, all while surrounded by superb music, in a large barn on a hilltop overlooking Maple Bay. To top it off, our generous business Friends of Somenos have donated unique and valuable items to bid on in a not-to-be-missed silent auction.
The delectable 5-course dinner is prepared by Chefs Daniel & Michael Shipley, owners of Mensch Catering, who are well-known Cowichan Valley chefs as well as long-time supports of the Green Gala. Dinner will be served at 6:30. During the meal we will be entertained by John Wade and the WildWings trio; John has pulled together an amazing group of local musicians to play for us. Sadly, Charlie ‘Super Smooth’ Wade, one of John’s regulars, has passed and he will be missed this year.
Averill Creek Wines, whose wines are grown in the Somenos Watershed will be the wine de jour. There will also be Stillhead liquors for the cocktail lovers and our annual WildWings beer from Lance and Liz at the Craig Street Brew Pub. You will receive 2 free drink tickets at the door, and a cash bar will then be available.
Money raised from the gala will be used to support our Community Stewardship Program where Somenos Marsh Wildlife Society staff enlist and train volunteers to become biodiversity stewards on their own land and in their community. Feel free to engage with any of our attending board members to see how you can get more involved, be it financially or with your time.
