Join State Rep. Jaime Andrade and our co-hosts for our Green Event on Saturday, March 29 from 9am to 11:30am (or until trucks reach capacity) at NEIU El Centro, located at 3390 N. Avondale Ave. in Chicago.There will be FREE paper shredding, electronics recycling, medication take back, clothing/shoe collection, and household paint disposal at the event. Paper Shredding: Please remove all paper clips, staples, and other bindings that could obstruct the shredder.
Electronics Recycling: Limit TWO TVs per vehicle, Monitors, computers, laptops, motherboards, printers, cell phones, game consoles, toasters, blenders, etc. NO A/C Units.
Medication Take Back: Collection is anonymous. Pills only (unwanted/expired human and pet medication). Can be in prescription bottles or unmarked plastic bags. ABSOLUTELY NO LIQUIDS OR SHARPS.
Clothing/Shoe Collection: Cradles to Crayons is collecting clothing and shoes of all sizes! Any clothing that meets quality standards will be redistributed back to the community to families facing low-income situations. Any clothing or shoes that do not meet quality standards can still be donated, as Cradles to Crayons partners with Chicago Textile Recycling, to recycle clothing and shoes. Household Paint Disposal (NEW THIS YEAR): Oil and latex paint is accepted. No commercial businesses. Household paint only.
