Keep Wakulla County Beautiful (KWCB) is hosting the 2026 Greatest American Cleanup, inviting Wakulla County residents and businesses to take part in a community-wide effort to celebrate America’s 250th birthday through environmental stewardship.
KWCB is specifically asking businesses and individuals to clean up in front of their properties, helping create a cleaner, more welcoming community throughout Wakulla County, by our nation’s birthday on July 4, 2026.
Community members are also encouraged to:
• Pick up at least 250 pieces of litter by July 4
• Help reach 250 miles of adopted roadway
• Participate in planting 250 trees across Wakulla County
The cleanup season kicked off on March 7, 2026, at the Apalachicola National Forest, and will be followed by a community-wide cleanup event on June 13, from 9-1, at Hudson Park, where progress will be celebrated, trash collected, trees planted, and lunch available.
Residents who cannot attend scheduled events can still participate by cleaning up their own areas, submitting their location and before-and-after photos.
All participants are eligible to receive a yard sign recognizing their commitment to keeping Wakulla County clean and beautiful.
