About this Event
PFPC is organizing our first-ever regional food systems summit. The summit will bring together stakeholders from across the region to identify shared goals, foster cross-sector relationships, and bring more attention, engagement, and momentum to the equitable and sustainable development of our regional food system.
The event will provide attendees with the opportunity to:
- Celebrate: Regional leaders, successful collaborations, and the work of PFPC partners.
- Learn: About how food is grown, processed, distributed, sold, and eaten, while identifying areas for improvement within the regional food system.
- Affirm: The importance of everyone's involvement and lived experiences in shaping food systems.
- Act: Utilize new tools and resources to develop plans and forge new connections.
Please join us! While the Pittsburgh Regional Food Systems Summit is offered to participants free of charge, registration is required due to limited capacity.
What to expect:
Summit sessions will reflect the 5 primary goals of the Greater Pittsburgh Food Action Plan. We'll have a variety of tracks that you can follow, with sessions ranging from raising chickens to alternate funding models to a food policy 'power' panel. Breakfast and lunch will be provided, of course. Details regarding dietary restrictions, accessibility needs, and childcare will follow in the registration questions. Keep an eye out for the speakers & sessions, as they are confirmed.
Note: We welcome you to join us the day before (Thursday, May 16th) at Community Kitchen for the PA Food Policy Council meeting (2pm) and a pre-summit Eat & Greet (4.30pm).
A BIG thank you to our sponsors for making this event possible, and the Summit Planning Committee, who has been working to vision, design, and coordinate this event!
