I am proud to invite you to join us at the Great Star Theater this Friday, June 18th at 5pm for a ribbon-cutting ceremony, lion dance, fireworks, and some words from the community. There will even be a few celebrities, including former San Francisco mayor Willie Brown.
Afterwards grab a bite at one of the many amazing restaurants on our block and then come back for our first big live show, Tōtum by Ballet22, which will be performing a mix of classical and contemporary ballet at 7pm. This will be the culmination of nearly a year of effort to bring back the Great Star Theater, and we would be honored if you could join us to celebrate.
Feel free to share this invitation with anyone you think may be interested in joining. We are looking forward to sharing more with the entire Chinatown community so everyone is welcome to join us for the festivities.
This event will be outside in front of the theater. Masks and vaccinations are strongly encouraged but not required. This ceremony is free and open to all but the following ballet performance is ticketed and attendees must be vaccinated or have a recent negative test. Tickets are available at the door for $20, and discounts are available as needed, we want all to be able to afford to attend so just let us know.
