Join South Florida PBS and The Historic Lyric Theater for an evening exploring the impact of Black migration on Miami’s cultural landscape. The event will begin with a cocktail reception with light bites, live music, and the unveiling of South Florida PBS's original AR experience where guests can immersive themselves in Miami 's Great Migration Stories from local community leaders.
Following the reception, guests will enjoy a screening of excerpts from Great Migrations: A People on The Move, the latest work by Dr. Henry Louis Gates Jr., and a screening of the South Florida PBS original digital series, Miami 's Great Migration Stories.
The evening will conclude with a panel discussion hosted by Nadege Green featuring prominent Miami community leaders with generational migration stories to share. Featured panelists include -
- Nadege Green - Director of Community Research & Storytelling at Community Justice Project, Inc.
- Rosie Gordon-Wallace - Founder, Diaspora Vibe Cultural Arts Incubator (DVCAI)
- Dr. Dorothy Jenkins Fields - Founder, The Black Archives at The Historic Lyric Theater
- Terrance Cribbs-Lorrant - Executive Director, Historic Black Police Precinct and Museum in Overtown
