Great Horned Owls - CARRI Summer Speaker Series

In this seventh presentation of our Summer Speaker Series, Scott will discuss details of the largest and most powerful owl that inhabits the Estes Valley.

The Great Horned Owl is one of the earliest nesting birds in North America, it is common to find these owls nesting as early as January and February. These large and powerful birds feed upon a wide variety of birds and animals.

During this presentation you will see images from around the country of the birds' courtship, nesting preferences, feeding habits, growth of their young and much more.
