Quantum Theatre are back with a thrilling new adaptation of Great Expectations. They bought us Peter Rabbit last year, this year it’s a Victorian best seller and much-loved family classic.A startling encounter with an escaped convict on the wild marshes; a summons to meet the decaying Miss Havisham; the sudden appearance of a mystery benefactor – this series of events change the orphaned Pip’s life forever as he eagerly abandons his humble origins to become a gentleman.
Join us on Pip’s journey through adversity to discover the true nature of his ‘Great Expectations’. From the misty marshes of Kent to the dusty, dirty streets of London, this gripping new adaptation of Dickens’s most enduringly popular novel is packed full of high drama, mysterious goings on and all your favourite Dickensian characters.
Bring your own blankets, cushions, and camping-chairs and join us on our outdoor adventure within the historic setting of the Museum’s 12th-century Castle. Come prepared for the weather – the performance will continue come rain come shine!
