Grazing in Lucan

Bronze buffalos 'graze' in the green park of Lucan House, the residence of the Ambassador of Italy to Ireland.

From Saturday 1st of July 2023 it will be possible to attend organized tours to discover these sculptures.

On this page you can choose the date and time which is most suitable for you to visit the park.

In order to attend, you are required to register, free of charge, for the tour and have a valid ticket. Please note that also minors need to be registered and have a ticket. Please print the ticket, or download it to your mobile, to present at the entrance gate.

The exhibition "Grazing in Lucan" is a collaboration between the Embassy of Italy and the Italian Institute of Culture in Dublin together with National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rome and the OPW (Dublin Castle).

The Italian artist, Davide Rivalta, creates life size animal sculptures using bronze; they are an exploration and expression of the shapes and the behaviours inherent to their nature.

INFORMATION ABOUT THE EVENT

• The meeting point for the tour is the main gate of Lucan House estate (EIRCODE K78 VP44). Please arrive 15 minutes before the starting time. Late comers will not be admitted to join the visit.

• For security reasons, only the grounds of Lucan House will be accessible to registered visitors. Please note that there will not be any toilets facilities and refreshments available. You will find these in the village just outside the gates of Lucan House.

• Due to the limited number of places available, we kindly request visitors who have booked but cannot attend the tour to cancel their reservation in advance.

• By registering for the tour you accept the following guidelines: in case of adverse weather conditions the tour might be cancelled; please bear in mind that due to the specific conditions of the park it may not be easily accessible to people with reduced mobility. In case, please contact us directly at [email protected]; cars or bicycles will not be allowed access to Lucan House - these must be left outside.
