THE MEDICINE WHEEL is a curated multisensory experience primarily focused on live music, in humble association with Grasa Courtyard - an open air restaurant & events space situated on Doddaballapur Main Road. For the first edition we have Jatayu - a four piece carnatic rock band from Chennai, making history with their groundbreaking approach toward a musical artform traditionally rooted in jazz, funk & bluegrass. Jatayu`s approach to world music & fusion has successfully paved the way for a newer and more expansive territory within the realms of live instrumentation. While it`s safe to say their material borders in on slightly darker and more elusive meditations of eastern folk music, their invocation is almost familiar. From sharing stages with the likes of Foo Fighters, The Strokes & Weezer at Japan’s Fuji Rock Festival, to being featured on The Hindu, The Indian Music Diaries, Red Bull India’s ‘artists to watch’, their sound is unique & captivating (to say the least). Their debut EP ‘Chango Tales’ was also featured on Rolling Stone India’s 10 best EP’s of 2019. Catch them live and exclusive at The Medicine Wheel, Grasa Courtyard – on the 22nd of November.
