Inspired by the Glasgow Print Studio archive, this new exhibition features artworks by people from Platform Art Groups, Galgael and Glasgow Print Studio members.
Saturday 18 Feb is a Full House Day at Platform - join us to celebrate the launch of the exhibition from 2pm - 4pm, featuring a DJ in the cafe, Travelling Gallery and a chance to try out screenprinting with a pop up workshop by Glasgow Print Studio.
Glasgow Print Studio artist Rosalind Lawless will host a pop up screen-printing workshop, offering you the chance to make your own piece of print to take home. First come, first serve.
BRB will be bringing tunes full of sunshine ready to warm up your soul. Music from across eras and across the globe, expect to hear some newbies and some classics all mashed into a mix sure to brighten a wintery day.
Visiting us for the day will be the Travelling Gallery, in partnership with University of Edinburgh. They will present Resistance in Residence, an exhibition created with student curators from the University of Edinburgh’s MScR Collections and Curating Practices course to exhibit moving image work by Winnie Herbstein, recently acquired by the University’s Art Collection.
Resistance in Residence is an exhibition about community-led protests for safe, affordable housing in Edinburgh and Glasgow. Stemming from Winnie Herbstein’s videos about Cathy McCormack’s activist work in Easterhouse, the exhibition includes archival materials, contemporary artworks and public responses about past, present and future resistance efforts.
