Grantee Showcase - NSAPG 2026

The NSAPG 2026 Grantee Showcase celebrates new theatre productions emerging from the Drama School Foundation Mumbai’s Niloufer Sagar Alumni Production Grant.

This year five grantees were selected out of 37 applications after two rounds of application process, evaluation and jury interviews.

Aada Aada Lakhav Hai

Three women from a village in Haryana sneak out to watch a Ragni performance of the famous singer Renu Chaudhary, a folk form that largely belongs to men. Finding themselves in awe of the power Renu holds, the women realise life outside the pallu might just be…*gasp*… fun?

Goodbye Birdie

In a fractured, war torn world, Goodbye Birdie is a clowning piece that reflects on the absurdity of life and the fragile hope that keeps us moving forward.

Inqilaab Ki Aakhiri Kisht

10 June

Blending Dastangoi, Theatre and Storytelling, this solo performance is the story about a boy who grows up feeling unseen and unheard in a loud middle-class family to finally finding his voice on stage.

Bhirrrr…

11 June

Bhirrrr… is a two-woman show blending music, movement, and storytelling through Marathi Ovis - folk songs sung by women while working in farms and homes across generations. Often dismissed as “just songs,” they carry the wisdom of everyday women.

Maai ki Aakhri Chhath?

12 June

Set in rural Bihar, the play is a satirical comedy that follows Maai, a 50-year-old mother who wishes to perform her last Chhath Puja. However, a looming climate catastrophe stands in her way, making the ritual nearly impossible. Will she be able to perform her last Chhath Puja?
