About the Speakers:

Dr. Arlene Siller is the Founder and CEO of Ascend Nonprofit and Business Solutions, a Hispanic and woman-owned grant training, coaching, research, and writing firm headquartered in San Antonio, Texas. Arlene has over 30 years of experience in the grant funding, organizational leadership and development industry, working with nonprofit organizations, for-profit businesses, higher education institutions, government, and individuals. Beyond her professional pursuits, Arlene is a dedicated social advocate who finds joy in family, dance, and community engagement.

Daniela Paz is a dedicated professional with a strong commitment to community impact. As Chief Operations Officer for Ascend Nonprofit and Business Solutions, she leads a high-performing team, implements workflows, streamlines processes to optimize productivity and increased client satisfaction. Daniela also oversees grant compliance services, ensuring adherence to funder requirements. With over a decade of experience specializing in financial integrity, funder compliance, and systems management within the nonprofit sector, Daniela specializes in maintaining funding sustainability, ensuring data integrity, and fostering long-term relationships with funders. Previously, as VP of Special Programs and Compliance at LiftFund, she implemented efficiency projects, led audits, ensured compliance, and assisted with treasury negotiations.

Brooks Gives Back raises funds through signature events on the Brooks campus. In addition, Brooks Development Authority donates a portion of asset sales proceeds. Direct donations are also accepted.

Mission: Brooks Gives Back serves as the vehicle by which all members of the Brooks community can invest in nonprofit initiatives impacting people in the neighborhoods surrounding Brooks.
