While other kids were more interested in "Being Like Mike," Adam Deitch was more interested in "Being Like Quincy." Drummer & producer Adam Deitch recalls, "It was around the age of 10 after I had been playing drums for 8 years, my mother told me my drumming skills along with my knowledge of melody and harmony would lead me to produce records for people". Having guitars, pianos, basses, recording equipment, synthesizers, and two parents who wrote music and sang all the time didn't hurt either.
Adam began composing around the age of 11 with his Dad's Ensoniq ESQ1 keyboard--one of the 1st keyboard/sequencers making beats that ranged from hip-hop, pop, R&B, gospel, jazz and fusion. Pretty soon artists in the neighborhood came knocking. "The tapes I was making at home were passed around at school, and the best artists from the area started coming by the studio." It was this early experience as a songwriter and a producer that has given Adam the wide spectrum of experience and influences that he brings to his work.
Beyond his sheer virtuosity and versatility, drummer Adam Deitch has proven to be a musician of perpetual motion. Most recently, in just over a year’s time, he was the driving force behind psychedelic funk veterans Lettuce’s eighth studio album 'Unify', released a hip-hop beats album 'TAKE YOUR TIME', and brought forth the second LP release from his soul-jazz project The Adam Deitch Quartet. 'Roll The Tape', available on Deitch’s imprint Golden Wolf Records now.
‘Roll The Tape’ features ten brand-new songs that transcend the traditional organ trio format and are accentuated by Deitch’s prowess for funk, breakbeat, hip-hop, and electronic music experiences coupled with highlighting the strengths of every musician in the group. The record epitomizes Deitch’s strength for surrounding himself with the perfect collaborators for any scenario and his ability to make even mature, serious music, resonate with music lovers from all backgrounds and maintain the ability to have fun. A fluid expression of the funkier side of soul-jazz, Deitch and his curated collective hint at the avant-garde, but stay grounded in warm traditions.

Grant Green Jr.:
As the son of legendary jazz guitarist Grant Green (1931-1979), Grant Green Jr. was exposed to exceptional musicianship right from the start. Growing up in Detroit, Grant enjoyed a constant parade of jazz greats streaming through his living room. He’s toured the world in one band or another from an early age, and was based in NYC for many years. A popular trio he founded is the Godfathers of Groove with Bernard Purdie. (aka: Masters of Groove.) Grant’s ability to blend funky grooves with the melodic soul-jazz and blues made him a festival favorite and he has also played with folks like Widespread Panic, Carlos Santana, George Benson, Tedeschi-Trucks Band, The Wood Brothers and more. Grant put out his album Thank You Mr. Bacharach last year and Susan Tedeschi sang on the lead single, “What the World Needs Now.”
