Our home education sessions will help your child develop a range of practical and social skills, whilst learning about wildlife.
About this Event

In relaxed outdoor settings we run a number of home education groups where children can be themselves and work together to develop social skills and to foster a deep understanding of wildlife and a love of the natural world.  Activities may include den building, woodland crafts, using tools, and fire lighting.

The sessions run weekly during term time— every Wednesday from 20 January to 11 February (5 weeks).

The 1-week ticket is available for  3 February only. If you would like to attend another week, no problem. Please click on the day you would like to attend below.

Dates: 13, 20, 27 January, 3, 10 February

FAQs

🎫 Who needs a ticket to attend?

Home Education at Grange Farm is suitable for school-aged children. Siblings under 18 months are very welcome to attend, but they do not require a ticket.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Do you offer a sibling discount?

Yes. We offer a 10% discount on sibling tickets for Nature Tots tickets.

🌿Do you accept Universal Credit?

We have a limited number of places available for families in receipt of universal credit. To find out more, please email our Wilder Learning Officer at the email address below.

📍Where do we meet?

Meeting instructions will be sent on booking. Please Park in the Pelican Playground car park and follow the signs to the meeting point just inside the meadow.

🌳Will the activities take place outside?

Yes and we will be outside for the whole session.

🌍Where are you based?

We are located in Chigwell, close to Loughton, Debden, and Epping.

🚗Is there parking?

Yes, we have two large free car parks

🔥What should we bring? Is food provided?  (For sites with a campfire)

Snack and a drink if you wish. No nuts, please. Weather permitting, we will have a fire, and you are welcome to bring something to toast. Things we like to toast: toasted tea cakes, brioche, slices of malt loaf, crumpet (some people cut these into triangles), fruit, cooked cocktail sausages, waffles, garlic bread, and small cheese sandwiches. Anything you can warm/toast on a stick, really! We provide toasting forks.

🥜My Child Has Allergies. Will they be able to eat the snack?

You will have the opportunity to share allergens and preferences upon booking.

🥾What should we wear?

Please dress for being outside - lots of layers. If it has been raining, the paths will be muddy and have lots of puddles, so wellies or boots are advised.

🚻Are there toilets?

Yes, the Grange Farm Centre has toilets. There are no other facilities on site.

☕ Is there a café or a shop?

There is not a café or a shop at Grange farm, but you are more than welcome to bring snacks with you.

🐕‍🦺Can we bring a dog?

Assistance dogs are welcome at our events.
