Grandmother Council ~ Fireside Storytelling Circle

You are warmly invited to join the Grandmother Council for our first Fireside Storytelling Circle with a theme chosen by the community on Lessons from Love, Loss and Forgiveness ~ a sacred fire gathering of story, song, and remembrance. This gathering is an opportunity to reconnect with the old ways of sharing, listening, and healing through story.

This special gathering will be held on the sacred tribal lands of the Siakumne people, within a traditional Council Roundhouse at Pata Panaka Village. We will be sheltered within the Roundhouse and warmed by the Sacred Fire. All ages and genders are welcome to join this village-building family friendly circle of community and connection.

To join us, please register in advance through Eventbrite. When you arrive, simply show your Eventbrite ticket or QR code to confirm your registration.

Event Details

• Date & Time

On Saturday November 15th arrive by 12:30 PM to allow time to walk from the parking area to the Roundhouse and settle in.

The sacred circle will open promptly at 1:00 PM. Please arrive early to be comfortably seated by 1pm. The circle will flow until 4:00 PM, followed by shared soup and community connection until 5:00 PM.

• Ceremonial Attire

Women are invited to wear long skirts in honor of being in ceremony.

• Honoring the Land

Guidance will be shared on how to walk respectfully and participate with reverence upon these sacred lands.

What to Bring ~

• Your own bowl, utensils, and cup for the shared soup (a wash station is available to take your dishes home clean).
• A blanket or cushion for sitting (some chairs are available for those that need them).
• A small dish to share with the soup is welcome but not required ~ bread and butter are especially appreciated. Please also bring serving utensils with your dish.
• Musical instruments to join the songs around the fire.
• A small gift or offering for the Grandmothers.
• Your Eventbrite ticket

This is a donation-based gathering ~ please give what you can.

Suggested donation: $13- $33+ per person
or $22–$44+ per family

No one will be turned away for lack of funds. Please note: Registration through Eventbrite is required to attend.

Your contributions support the meal, event costs, Grandmother Council and a portion will be gifted in gratitude to the Siakumne Tribe for the use of their sacred site.
