This exciting event marks the completion of a community-driven transformation, with valuable input from the Harlem McBride neighborhood and funding support from grants. The newly upgraded park features include:

These enhancements build on other recent improvements, including the transformation of an adjacent lot into a community garden. The new site furnishings match those installed at other city parks, creating a unified and welcoming appearance across Oakland Park’s public spaces. This revitalization project honors the legacy of Dr. Carter Godwin Woodson, historian, author, and one of the first scholars to study African-American history.
