Grand Opening of Open Garden Days at The Pollen Patch

Join us as The Pollen Patch opens its gates for the first Open Garden Day, held on Jane Goodall Day—a day about caring for the earth, community, and the small actions that make a difference.

This is a relaxed, come-and-go gathering in the garden. You don’t need experience, tools, or a plan—just come as you are and spend some time in the space.

What to expect:

🌼 Native seed planting (take something home to grow)
🐦 Bird treat making in honor of Jane Goodall
🌿 Herbal tea blending + sipping in the garden
🥕 Snacks available
🎶 Live DJ set

For kids (and anyone who wants to play):
🫧 Bubble station
🪴 Dig station with mini garden tools
🎨 Chalk art + collaborative painting project
🐝 Garden scavenger hunt
🎲 Board games
🎡 Prize wheel

This space was built to be used—so come touch the soil, learn something simple, and spend time in a space centered around plants, people, and care for the environment.

What are Open Garden Days? 🌿

Open Garden Days are a weekly invitation to step into a green space and use it however you need.

This isn’t a formal class or a structured event—it’s time set aside for the community to be here. To slow down, to make something, or to simply exist somewhere that isn’t surrounded by concrete and noise.

Come by for a quick visit or stay for a while. Bring your laptop and treat it like your new outdoor work spot. Meet a friend and let it become your weekly café. Stop in on your lunch break. Sit with a cup of tea. Work on a project. Paint. Read. Stretch. Meditate. Play a board game. Bring your instrument and play for a bit.

There’s space for quiet focus, and space for connection—whatever you need that day.

Throughout the season, there will also be ongoing, hands-on moments woven into the day—DIY projects, live gardening, and herbal preparations happening in real time. You can jump in, ask questions, or just observe and learn as things unfold.

Open Garden Days are about access.
Access to green space.
Access to knowledge.
Access to a slower pace, even if just for an hour.
