(Grand Opening!) Loyal to the Soil Retail Collective! - April 23rd @ Noon

In partnership with Oakstop Alliance, two East Bay business owners have launched a new Black business collective in Downtown Oakland!

The Loyal to the Soil Collective offers participants retail space in a curated brick-and-mortar storefront featuring small to mid-size Black-owned businesses, as well as hands-on business mentorship courtesy of Oakstop Alliance.

The program has selected its first cohort of businesses that will feature their wares in the Loyal to the Soil storefront, opening April 23, 2022, at 1719 Broadway, Oakland.

Founded by Michelle Walton and Wesley Dawan, owners of The Collective Oakland Bookstore, the Loyal to the Soil program aims to help all Oaklanders achieve economic security by facilitating a network of Black-owned businesses that engages with consumers, provides impactful resources, and creates a true sense of partnership between business owners and their communities.
