Two beautifully matched folk-leaning acts come together for a relaxed Thursday night of songs, stories and guitar-driven warmth at the Wheatsheaf Hotel.

Grand Baxter bring their bouncy, driving acoustic folk rock — built on rich melodies, thoughtful lyrics and the easy chemistry between songwriter Ben Langdon and guitarist Jack Wieseler. With influences spanning folk, country and rock, Grand Baxter’s songs balance warmth, humour and heart, moving effortlessly between reflective moments and upbeat, foot-tapping energy.

Ryan Martin John is a Kaurna-based country/folk songwriter whose songs feel like introverted dreams, echoing the Laurel Canyon folksters of the 1970s. Joined by guitarist Tom Kneebone, the duo weave intricate guitar lines with delicate harmonies, creating intimate, transportive performances that reward close listening.
