Ready to grow healthier plants while saving water and building alive and carbon-rich soil? Join us for a hands-on Mulch & Compost Workshop where we’ll break down the science (and the magic!) behind two of the most important practices for thriving gardens.
You’ll learn:
- Why mulch is one of the best and least expensive investments you can make for your garden
- How to source and sort your compost
- How to grow source plants for your compost and mulch
- How soil microbes improve nutrient cycling, root growth, and plant resilience
- How to reduce watering while improving plant health
- The best ecological resources for creating a resilient, productive garden

Granada Hills Salad Bowl Garden Club is non-profit 501(c)(3) based in Granada HIlls. Granada Hills Salad Bowl Garden Club is working to encourage individuals in the community to develop self-sufficiency and healthy living through a community garden and educating them about gardening skills. We are on 1.25 Acres with 139 plots that are approximately 30’ x 10’ or 300 sq ft and we focus on organic vegetable gardening.
What's Required:
- Outdoor volunteer event, please bring a sun hat, long sleeved top, pants and wear closed toed shoes.
- Bring water.
- No Dogs allowed.
- Street Parking on Both sides of Rinaldi Street.
