You're Invited!Join us for an evening of inspiration, curiosity, and celebration as we gather for the annual Center for Science and Mathematics Education (CSME) Invited Lecture — an event dedicated to the joy of science and math, the art of teaching and learning, and the wonder of the natural world.
We are thrilled to welcome Andrew B. Gilbert, Ph.D., George Mason University, as this year’s featured speaker, presenting his lecture:
“Finding Your Courage: Becoming the Teacher You Dream of Being”
An advocate for teachers and learners at all levels, Andy studies wonder and joy in our classrooms. Rather than treating our educational opportunities as paths towards the same destination, he promotes and models learning experiences that celebrate our individual curiosities. Andy celebrates a "wonder-infused pedagogy" that can be embraced by all teachers, new and seasoned, in STEM fields and beyond.
📅 Date: Thursday, April 16th, 2026
🕖 Time: 7:00 PM
📍 Location: Wildcat Theater, Shepard Union Building, Weber State University, Ogden Campus
This free public lecture is open to all — educators, students, families, and anyone who loves learning.
The evening will begin with a special recognition of our graduating math and science teaching students — rising educators who will soon be shaping classrooms across the region. Celebrate their achievements and meet the next generation of science and math leaders. Please share widely — and come ready to be inspired!
