Graduate Council Presents: Introduction to Circus Arts at Aloft Circus Arts

Aloft is Chicago's premier teaching, training, and performance space. Located in an old church in Logan Square, Aloft Circus Arts is a cool, fun community of recreational students and professional circus artists. Learn the silks, Lyra, sling, spinning trapeze, tightwire, and more! You’ll get small group instruction in a 90 minute long class. Pick your date and timeslot at checkout!

You'll pick your small group workshop time and date when you purchase your ticket - we are offering four 90 minute workshops - two on Saturday, February 28, and the other on Sunday, March 1. Workshops start at 6:15PM and 7:45PM. Each workshop will have the same content.

We ask you all to arrive at least 15 minutes early to get changed, and settled in. Please sign the electronic waiver before arriving (linked below). Parking is street parking and there are free spots along Kimball and Wrightwood – just be aware of the few restricted zones in the neighborhood.

While food is not allowed in the space, you are encouraged to bring a refillable water bottle per person. Participants should wear comfortable, well-fitting clothing that covers theabdomen, and legs should be covered at least to the knees-- nothing too baggy or too tight. Think yoga pants! Socks can be worn, though some activities will be barefoot for safety and grip. Don’t forget the camera!

Since we'll be doing tightwire, remember to bring two pairs of socks or ballet shoes to protect your feet!

Your class will be 90 minutes long each, and feature a warm up and cool down, as well as specific introductory instruction on tightwire (bring socks!) and lyra. Your teachers will be Sarah and Kristi. They will meet you in the lobby/reception area when your class begins and lead you into the studio. Please do not enter the studio until your teachers come to get you.

REFUNDS WILL NOT BE PROCESSED IF REQUESTED WITHIN ONE WEEK OF THE EVENT. See information here for reselling tickets.

Re-sellers and purchasers must coordinate payment independently. UChicago Grad Council will not facilitate any transfers.

Once payment has been coordinated, resellers can change the name on their ticket to the purchaser.
