About this Event
Welcome to the GPSA Strings Halloween Play-In event! Join us for an afternoon of beautiful music at Highland Orchards, Inc. on Sun, Oct 27, 2024 starting at 1:00 PM. Bring your violin, viola, cello, or double bass and play along with fellow musicians or simply sit back and enjoy the performance. It's a great opportunity to connect with other music lovers and showcase your talents. Don't miss out on this musical gathering!
Halloween Theme: All participants (even teachers!) are encouraged to wear costumes for this event. Beware of elaborate or large costumes that can possibly prevent comfortable playing. Attire is casual if you choose not to wear a costume.
Suzuki Play-In: The Play-In starts at 1:00 PM EST, but please arrive no later than 12:45 EST to allow enough time for unpacking, tuning, restroom, etc. Participants are welcome to arrive as early as 12:15 PM EST. This event will end at 2:30 PM EST. After the Play-In, you are welome to explore Highland Orchards - https://highlandorchards.net.
Participation Fees:
$10 per student
$5 per student for families with multiple performers
Donation (pay as you wish)
Audience members do not need to register the Play-In. Friends and families of performers do not need to register for the Play-In.
Teachers who wish to participate, please register for your free ticket. Simply “purchase” the appropriate ticket on this website. The coordinator will reach out to you about leading piece(s).
Registration Play-In tickets are not sold the day of. GPSA is not equipped to take payment at Highland Orchards. To register, please purchase tickets on this website according to the appropriate category of student.
Repertoire:
*Repertoire is subject to change as programming depends on student registration. For instance, if there is a huge registration of Violin Book 1 players, then repertoire will adjust accordingly and the key of pieces will adjust accordingly. If there is a huge registration of Cello Book 3 players, then repertoire will adjust accordingly. Below is a sample of potential repertoire. Memory is not required. Performers are welcome to any harmony parts, editions, and/or variations. Please be mindful of the intended performance key signatures. A finilazed repertoire list will be provided once registration closes.
