About Good People Dinners: GP Dinners is a community built around meaningful conversations and delicious feasts, a moveable social club for those who value authenticity, a better way to connect with each other.

Our dinners are hosted at a wide range of venues in the Bay Area, at Camp Earnest near Yosemite NP and around the country. Each dinner includes a speaker and a chef prepared feast.

Please email us at least 72 hours in advance if you have any dietary restrictions and we'll do our best to accommodate them.

OUR SPEAKER:

Our friend Damon Horowitz has spent the past few years training in Hakomi, a therapeutic method for healing and rewiring our nervous system through mindfulness and somatic practices. This work has turned him on to the overlaps between therapeutic and artistic enterprises as forms of self-exploration.

Amongst his many other activities, some years back Damon found himself directing theatrical productions of Shakespeare. He’ll share a story of one actor’s journey and transformation through playing Antony in Julius Caesar... and how he now sees the relation of this work to Hakomi and therapy more broadly. How can doing art, making theater, visual art, or music help us to heal and develop as more self-realized people?

OUR CHEF:

Our friend Sam Lippman was the founding executive chef at AirBnB. During his tenure building up their kitchen, Sam revolutionized expectations around the kinds of humorous (so many musical puns), healthy, zero waste and delicious menus employees could expect at a large tech company.

Today, Sam is first hire and lead chef at Hooray Foods. Hooray makes delicious plant-based meats that are designed to look, cook and taste just like the real thing.

Sam’s served as chef for a wide range of GP and Camp Earnest functions, including Karin and Raman’s wedding, and will be composing some exquisite dishes for our first Small Plates dinner at Sid’s loft.
