In this beginner-friendly gouache painting class, students will learn how to create a charming woodland scene featuring a cluster of whimsical red-capped mushrooms framed by delicate greenery. Using layered gouache techniques, we’ll explore how to build rich, opaque color, add simple textures and highlights, and create organic shapes that bring the composition to life. Participants will practice:
• Painting smooth, even washes with gouache
• Adding details like spots, gills, and soft shading
• Creating decorative botanical borders for a finished, stylized look
By the end of class, each student will complete their own enchanting mushroom illustration—perfect for gifting, framing, or expanding into a larger series of nature-inspired artwork. No prior painting experience is required; just bring your curiosity and creativity!
