Join us for a night of the weird and eerie as horror aficionados share readings of their work and discuss what it means to write horror.
About the Authors:
Jessica Hobbs is a writer with a BA in Film Studies from the University of Colorado, Boulder, a background in opera, Vaudeville, television production, and film festivals, and a passion for all things strange and unusual. Her first book, The Witch and Other Tales of the American Gothic, was released in 2023 along with an accompanying narrative podcast read by the author. She lives in the magical Laurel Canyon neighborhood in Los Angeles with her composer husband, Robinton, and their cat, Freyja.
Anna Chazelle is a French-American filmmaker and actor. She wrote, directed, and starred in the post-apocalyptic horror Narrow, which premiered at the Fantasia Film Festival. Narrow was selected for the HollyShorts Hot List: Top 30 Films of 2020 and is currently available on Short Of The Week. Anna is currently developing a horror screenplay for Blake Lively’s company B For Effort. She will next direct a fantasy-horror adaptation of the Greek legend of Medusa for Fangoria Studios, produced by Armen Aghaeian and Tara Ansley. She is represented by WME and is a proud member of WGA West and SAG.
Angela Cohen is a multi-talented, award winning writer/director who serves up an enigmatic blend of humor, heart, and intrigue. She’s produced films that have screened at the Sundance Film Festival, qualified for the Oscars, and her work as an actress includes legends Al Pacino and Ann Dowd. She holds a degree in Neuroscience and Behavioral biology from Emory University and synergizes her skill sets in virtual reality.
Colin Hinckley is the author of The Black Lord, a cosmic folk horror novella, a contemporary tale of New Weird Folk Horror.
