Gospel Choir Registration for Fall 2024

Are you a member of the Miami community and ready to let your voice soar and have your spirit uplifted? Join the vibrant and soulful community of the FIU Gospel Choir!

Become part of a close-knit family of singers from all walks of life, united by a shared love for music and faith! Showcase your talents at campus events, local concerts, and special occasions, spreading the powerful message of gospel music.

By joining, you will learn from experienced vocal coaches and musicians dedicated to nurturing your skills and helping you reach your full potential. We are so excited to announce that Glenda Foster will be teaching the choir and brings 25 years of experience with Gospel choirs in a liturgical setting, assisted by Ruth Michel.

This is a non-auditioned ensemble No experience necessary! Just bring your passion for music and a willingness to learn! Whether you're a student, faculty, staff, or someone from the community, all are welcome!

Rehearsals will be Tuesdays, 6:30-8:30pm at the Wertheim School of Music, Recital Hall (WPAC 150).

About Glenda Foster:

• Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Florida Memorial University
• 43 years of teaching experience in both Broward and Miami-Dade Counties
• Teaching experience directing choirs at every age level, with experience in Gospel Choir, beginning through Advanced Choirs, Show Choir, AP Theory, General Music, Music Appreciation, and Vocal Technique
• Five time teacher of the year
• 25 years experience with Gospel Choir in a liturgical setting
