Gorg-O-Mish opens late Saturday with sets from two of our residents, Abasi and Glyn, both returning to the room with the familiarity and ease that comes from years spent shaping its sound.
Abasi has long been part of the city’s after-hours fabric. His approach leans toward tightly woven rhythms and a measured control that gives his sets a sense of quiet propulsion. He draws from a wide spectrum of house and techno, but always with an ear for subtle tension and movement. What defines his presence in the booth is the way he reads a room, building pace not through obvious gestures but through the steady layering of ideas that gradually lock the floor into motion. His return this month brings that same understated precision that has made him one of the cornerstones of the space.
Glyn arrives with a different sensibility, shaped by years of radio work, deep digging and a commitment to exploring the connective threads between genres. His sets often move with a loose, conversational flow, shifting between grooves with an ease that feels both spontaneous and deeply considered. There is a warmth in the way he plays, a sense of curiosity that guides the room into unexpected pockets without ever breaking its stride. As a resident, he brings a continuity to the night, grounding the atmosphere with selections that are thoughtful, agile and quietly expressive.
Together they offer two perspectives honed over countless mornings in the booth, each returning with a familiarity that gives the night its rhythm and its shape.
