Cecilia and Mark Haszlakiewicz have invited members of the society to visit them at their boutique one acre vineyard in the ancient settlement of Goodworth Clatford in the Test Valley, Hampshire. In 2016 they planted traditional Champagne grapes, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. The first harvest took place in 2018 and the first bottles of sparkling wine were opened in 2021 to critical acclaim (including the award of a gold medal in an International wine competition).Our tour, tasting and buffet lunch will include a glass of Goodworth on arrival, a walk amongst the vines when Mark will explain what happens in the vineyard over the year and how the sparkling wine is produced, followed by a comparative tasting of three of their 2019 blends, and a buffet lunch designed to complement those wines.
