THE TIPPING POINT THEATRE CO CBUS PRESENTS

DAVID LINDSAY-ABAIRE’S

GOOD PEOPLE

Good People, written by David Lindsay-Abaire

Directed by Pamela Hill

The show will run from October 24 to November 3, 2024, at the Columbus Performing Arts Center’s Shedd Theater Stage. There will be no performance on Thursday 10/31/24 for Halloween.

Good People tells the poignant story of Margie Walsh, an unemployed single mother from South Boston who, after losing her job at a dollar store, is desperate to find work. With a life marked by struggle and resilience, Margie reaches out to an old flame, Mike, who has risen to success as a doctor. Their reunion uncovers buried secrets and challenges societal perceptions of class and morality, ultimately forcing both characters—and the audience—to grapple with the question: What does it mean to be a “good person” in today’s world?

Director Pamela Hill is known for her impactful work in local and regional theater. With a deep commitment to storytelling, she has made a name for herself through projects that highlight diverse voices and compelling narratives.

Performance Schedule:

  • Thursday October 24: 8 PM
  • Friday October 25: 8 PM
  • Saturday October 26: 8 PM
  • Sunday October 27: 2 PM

Good People received a Tony Award nomination for Best Play in 2011, and Frances McDormand won the Tony Award, Drama Desk Award, and Outer Critics Circle Award for her powerful portrayal of Margie Walsh. David Lindsay-Abaire, a Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright known for Rabbit Hole, invites audiences to reflect on the struggles and dignity of the American working class amid today’s economic challenges.

Join us for an unforgettable evening of theater that promises to resonate long after the curtain falls. Tickets can be purchased at the door or via Eventbrite.com.
