Good Grief: A Fun Night About Sad Sh*t
About this Event
Good Grief: A Fun Night About Sad Sh*t
Grief is something we'll all experience. We just don't happen to be very good at talking about it. Well, we're here to change that—one drink, one performance, and one honest conversation at a time.
This is not an evening about finding closure or silver linings. It's about making space for the realities of loss with honesty, curiosity, and maybe even a little humor. Because while grief doesn't disappear, it can become easier to bear when it isn't carried alone.
Hosted by David Farrier, the night features DJ Novena Carmel, performances by musician Jimetta Rose and poet Paola Capó-García, and the world premiere of Trisha Angeles’s narrative dance film LET IT LEAVE ME.

The Story of Good Grief
"The film began as an attempt to give shape to a day my body couldn't leave behind. Through movement, music, and image, I found a way to externalize what words couldn't hold."
— Trisha Angeles
After the loss of her life partner, Trisha Angeles created LET IT LEAVE ME, a narrative dance film exploring grief through movement. What began as a personal act of survival became a collective work of care.
GOOD GRIEF: A Fun Night About Sad Shit extends that spirit—bringing grief out of isolation and into community through film, performance, food, drinks, and honest conversation. A reminder that even in loss, we can still gather, connect, and keep living.
