Good Folks in the Garden returns to the Baltimore Museum of Art for its second year in collaboration with the Good Folks Happy Hour. Join us on the BMA’s West Lawn for a Matisse-inspired happy hour set alongside our beloved meadow, as we celebrate the color, light, and line of renowned artist Henri Matisse.
Dress in vibrant summer colors and let the luminous sounds of DJ Face set the tone. Grab a cocktail at the cash bar, a bite from local food trucks and vendors on the lawn, and participate in art making among friends.
Rooted in joy and powered by good music, Good Folks in the Garden creates a space to unwind, make friends, and honor the brilliance of everyday people doing good work.
This is your invitation to step outside, slow down, and soak in the season with a joyful, colorful garden experience where art, community, and summer come together beautifully. The Museum is open until 9 p.m. Explore the BMA’s celebrated collection and special exhibitions including Matisse and Martinique: Portraits and Poetry and Fratino and Matisse: To See This Light Again.

About Good Folks Happy Hour
Good Folks Happy Hour is a pop-up community gathering that brings together artists, organizers, culture-makers, and neighbors for intentional connection, joy, and celebration. Rooted in cultural traditions and powered by good music, conversation, and vibes, Good Folks Happy Hour creates a space to unwind, build relationships, and honor the brilliance of everyday people doing good work.
The idea was born from a series of conversations between childhood friends Larry Simmons and Aaron Greene, who were working remotely at R. House during the early days of the pandemic. What started as a way to stay grounded and connected soon grew into a shared vision for gathering “Good Folks” in spaces that feel like home—wherever we show up.
About DJ Face
DJ Face is a member of the True School Corporation, an organization of DJ’s founded and run by Grammy Award winning producer and DJ, 9th Wonder. Currently, Face is the tour DJ for Grammy award winning Roc Nation artist, Rapsody, as well as Grammy nominated R&B/Soul singer Raheem DeVaughn. Face has performed in major venues Nationally and Internationally in places such as New York, Los Angeles, Miami, London, Amsterdam, Hong Kong and more. DJ Face can be heard over the D.C./MD/VA airwaves spinning on Majic 102.3FM on Saturday nights from 7-10 p.m. with host, Ric Chill for The Bassment Jam and as an on-air personality on Sundays from 3-7 p.m.
