Accelerate action: creating inclusive and supportive workplaces
Join us this International Women’s Day as the Good Employment Charter brings together organisations and industry leaders for a special event focused on driving real change in the workplace. This is an opportunity to learn from experts, share experiences, and explore what practical steps can be taken to create fairer workplaces for everyone.
You’ll gain valuable insights and learn about the actionable steps you can take to help you build a more inclusive and supportive work environment. The event will focus on real examples of policies and practices that make a difference, giving you the ideas and tools you need to implement changes in your own organisation.
Our keynote speaker, Lisa Upton - Thought Bubbles, will explore self-perception bias, where women unconsciously underestimate their abilities due to societal norms. This impacts confidence, decision-making, and career growth. Lisa will share how challenging self-doubt and embracing strengths can drive meaningful change—because to Accelerate Action, we must start from within.
Next, Hazel Hayden - Bristol Menopause & Wellwoman Clinic, will shed light on the realities of menopause and its impact on employees, helping to break the stigma and promote workplace awareness
We’ll also be hosting a panel discussion, led by Sabrina Shutter - Bristol BIDs, where we will explore the best ways to support women returning to work after maternity leave. Panelists will share their insights on different policies like flexible working, which can make this transition more seamless for both employers and employees. They will also highlight how employers can ensure returning employees feel valued and included.
We have a dedicated networking session during the event, giving attendees an invaluable chance to connect with other businesses across the region. You’ll be able to ask advice, form new partnerships and meet other like-minded professionals who are committed to good employment practices.
This event is for everyone. Creating a fair and supportive workplace isn’t just about policies for women; it’s about building environments where everyone can thrive. Whether you’re an employer, a manager, or an employee who wants to drive positive change, your voice and involvement matter. Join us and be part of the conversation.
