The Gong is the spirit song.
It is the primal whisper of the soul,
The sound within all sounds
Listen with the outer and inner ears
Feel its pulsations and let the millions of vibrations
dance and flow through your senses.

THE EXPERIENCE
Step into the transformative realm of the ‘Gong Dreamers’, where nine gongs and their weavers Jenine, Bina, and Bruce whisk you away on an extraordinary journey.
Join us for a transcendent experience, allowing the celestial melodies of our gentle giants to elevate your senses and harmonize your essence. Each gong influences the others with its subtle vibrations, weaving a tapestry of sonic wonders. A magnificent vibratory field is created. Prepare to encounter sound alchemy that resonates deeply within your being.
We'll kick off the evening with an offering of Cacao, an activation to help you ease into the experience and open up. Please remember to bring your yoga mat, blankets, cushions, eye masks, mug for cacao, and anything else that will enhance your comfort during the session, as you'll be reclining on the floor.

HOW DOES SOUND HEALING WORK?
Therapeutic instruments such as Tibetan singing bowls and gongs stimulate the alpha and theta brain wave frequencies associated with meditative, clear, and peaceful states of mind.
Alpha brainwaves are present during light meditation, daydreaming and deep relaxation. Theta brainwaves are present during REM dreaming sleep, deep meditation, and hypnosis. These states are considered the gateway to the subconscious mind and it's here where we experience heightened creativity, depth of imagination, and access to the subconscious realms where deep-seated healing can take place. Therapeutic sound also impacts our nervous system, slowing the heart, brain, and respiratory rates down to induce a state of deep relaxation and peace. When the brain waves and body are synchronized, balance can be restored and stress can be released.
The gong is the most resonant tone-producing instrument known. When it vibrates you can sense the musical vibrations within all the cells of the body. Human beings in the fullness of health are like the gong.....fully resonant. When we are resonating fully, reproductive cells of the body function optimally opening us to intuitive power, cellular health and the experience of inner peace. It has been said the more resonant we are, the more alive we are.

YOUR GUIDES
Bina Iris
My first gong experience was the Paiste Sun Gong played by Eva Mason. It was a transformational sonic wall that blasted through me. I was left with no doubt that this was powerful, meaningful and created a shift in frequency. It was not long that I found my very own Paiste planetary gong, the 38 inch Sedna, named after the Norse Goddess of the Ocean. Her sounds are watery and nurturing and take you to a greater depth. The gong is a viper of the soul with an immensely broad range of frequencies, overtones and harmonics. I’m a dancer, musician and artist. What an honour to play an instrument that dances, sings and creates, and enhances well-being.

My journey into sound healing began in India in 2017, when I experienced a profound out-of-body experience with my first teacher, Akail, at the Temple of Singing Bowls. That experience ignited my passion for the power of sound. Since then, I have explored various healing modalities and instruments, but it's the resonance of the Gong that resonates most deeply with me. Within its vibrations, I find a space where time and space merge, offering profound healing and transformation. Guiding others through this journey, I weave ancient wisdom with modern understanding to facilitate deep healing and harmony, sharing the transformative potential of sound with all who seek it. www.ninehealingarts.co.nz

I acquired my first gong over a decade ago, thanks to a grant from the Kiwiburn Festival. My initial mallets were repurposed from singing bowl playing, but over time, I came to recognize the value of professional-quality mallets and gongs. However, I acknowledge that working with what I had initially taught me valuable lessons. I have been fortunate to amass ample playing time in ceremonial settings, an experience that has significantly influenced and shaped my practice.
